Despite our name, Taupo Scoria Ltd offers far more than just scoria. We are proud to be the only source of premium basalt rock in the Central North Island, a strategic geographic advantage for efficient distribution across the entire North Island.

Our top-tier aggregate is produced to meet the demands of the construction sector for roading, drainage and environmental controls as well as for decorative purposes.
Specifically, our M4 basalt is of the highest quality maintained by the NZ Transport Agency with a crushing strength of >230Kn and is frequently supplied as an all-passing TNZ M4 AP40 designed for tight compaction and reliable infrastructure performance.

OUR TEAM

Established in 2004, Taupo Scoria Ltd is owned and operated by brothers Graham and Bruce Seay.

Graham manages the day-to-day operation of the quarry while Bruce oversees Auckland sales alongside his dedicated trucking business, Seay Distribution Ltd.
Utilizing a modern fleet of late-model Kenworth trucks, Bruce ensures a seamless, daily supply chain between Taupo and Auckland.

To support maximum efficiency Taupo Scoria Ltd operates several loaders and our most recent Cat. 972 Loader is fuel efficient and equipped with a Loadrite weigh system.

A cone crusher and screening plant was imported from China in 2011 to maximise quality, quantity and grade processing.
